Okay, now that I've followed all the rules, let's get onto the Tag!

1. Name a beauty routine you barely do

Highlighting. I just don't like it on my face. 

2. Is washing your brushes something that you regularly do? 

I try to wash my face, especially foundation/powder/eyebrow brushes at least once every two weeks, I've tried not to wear make up as much, so I only really wash them when I use them, same with eyeshadow brushes etc. 

3. How long do you last with chipped nail varnish? 

Generally, it's only a couple of days - max. I love painting my nails and chipped nail polishes bugs me so much. In saying that though, I'm due to get acrylics on for a wedding, so I've been very lazy with them! 

4. How often do you put off buying/replacing a beauty item or nail polish, even if you need it? 

Never. In fact, I do the opposite. Generally the products I finish are favourites so I don't want to go without them. Occasionally I'll replace them with a cheaper product or something similar, I have at least three of every similar items in my collection. 

5. What is your worst beauty habit? 

I'm a bit of a hypocrite. Being a hairdresser myself  I always preach about the importance of a regular trim every 4-6 weeks, when in reality I haven't had my hair apart from my fringe cut in almost a year and a half. I do try my hardest to take care of it though! 

6. Name something non-beauty related that you tend to put off all the time. 

Keeping my clothes room tidy. I hate it. I know where everything is, but to other people would look as though a bombs hit it. 

7. When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?

I always leave myself an hour for each; hair make up and outfit. That's for a big night out, but for everyday I can be done in an hour. I hate being rushed when doing my make up and stuff. I freak if I don't have enough time. 

8. Can you commit to spending bans? 

I sure can. I give myself a budget every month and then that way I can't moan when I'm skint. 

9. How organised is your make up and nail polish collection? 

My make up collection is fairly organised, although I've just bought some new storage to try and make it all fit a bit better.. I love knowing where everything in my collection is. In contrast, my nail polish collection is organised chaos. Although everything has a place in the nail box. 

10. What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post? 

I'm not sure. My blogging was fairly inconsistent when I first started, but after this one, I have two fairly big posts all Halloween related to go up! Which I'm really excited about!

Drugstore lipsticks for fall!

Today's post is all about my favouraite drugstore lipsticks, mostly for fall. 

I have included swatches and the names/numbers for all, enjoy!

I always team any of these shades with a normal black cateye or a neutral smokey eye for fall. 

These are more or less my fave drugstore lipsticks for fall/winter EVER, some I have repurchased and others are fairly new to my collection!

Nails inc review!

Today is just a quick review on a nail polish from Nails inc in Bruton Street which I am loving.

I've had this polish for four or so months I've used it a few times but never been able to love it as much as others, but I decided to give it another bash and I love it! 

I apply a basecoat to my nails and two coats off this and my fave top coat which is a cheap one from Saffron. 

The polish itself usually lasts me about a week before chipping which is better than others I've used, the bottle is 10ml 0.33 FL.OZ which is the equivalent to 30+ manicures so for £11 it's a bargain. 

Below I will put some finished photos of the colour on my nails excuse the white polish at cuticles I had a run in with a bad polish and it just won't come off!

TAG: the beauty blogger/getting to know me.

1. Is your hair natural curly or straight?

My hair has a mind of its own, when it's short, it's straight limp and lifeless but now I've grown it to shoulder length it's a curly/wavy texture when it's left to dry on its own. 

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I used to work in a salon, so I would usually get it cut there. But when it comes to dying I've always done it myself  even before I don't my training I had a rough idea of what I was doing, but once I knew the ins and outs there for no stopping, my hair is something I've always been very experimental with. 

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

If we’re talking about a majority of the year, I mainly wear it down now it's grown a lot. I've just recently cut in Bettie bangs, so I'm still fining out which styles look best with it, although I'm quite into curly hair and up dos.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

Yes, I do my own mani/pedi. I just find it easier that way, and I learned to do it at college so why pay someone else to do it when I can do it myself. I change my nails to often and it would cost a fortune haha. 

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

When I’m not busy, I change my nail polish every 1-2 weeks. It makes me really uneasy seeing chipped polish on myself and other people. 

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just in the summer?

Both. I've worn nail polish on my toes for years, they look funny without now. Not a month goes by when my tootsies aren't looking pristine.

7. How long does it take for you to put on your makeup?

If I’m rushing, then 15-30 minutes. But If I've given myself a while to get ready, hair make up and outfit probably around 3 hours. 

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Generally day to day make up I do my face first. But if I'm going on a night out and I know I will be using shadows with a lot of fall out, then I do eyes first. 

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

Recently, I’ve been collecting more makeup than I should. But I try not to go too crazy, and refrain to buying what I really need. Other things I've had for years and I've never used them. My downfall is palettes and lipstick, I hoard them like no other. 

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I used to wear them everyday without fail but now I've weaned myself off and I've started wearing them for nights out which has saved me a lot of money. 

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

 Uhh, not everyday if I'm not going anywhere, but if I have something planned like nipping to the shop then yes. 

12. Do you wear makeup when your home alone, or with family?

If I’m with family outside, then yeah I put it on. But if I’m home alone, no makeup for me! The feeling of no makeup when your home alone is amaaaaazing.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?

No. Never I probably should stop but I just don't feel comfortable.

14. How many high-end products do you have?

Honestly, I have quite a lot. I don't use them enough for how much I paid for them. 

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?

I wish I planned my OOTD every night. I keep telling myself to, but I just end up getting really tired and sleeping instead. So every morning is a struggle and going through the " I have nothing to wear " tantrum.

16. How often do you change your handbag?

Well, not too often. My handbag is the most organised item I own.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

I tend to be in bed by 10.30 and get up before 9.

18. How often or when do you workout?

I never usually work out. I walk a lot and I'm trying to eat better. 

19. Left handed or right handed?

Right handed .

20. How tall are you?

5 foot 8 inches.

21. Do you speak any foreign language?

I can speak some french.

22. How many pets do you have?

None.

23. How often are you on blogger?

All the time, constantly checking to see if any of my favouraite bloggers have posted.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

Unless they are mines hope.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

Yes, I do! I’ve got it all on my Notepad!

26. How did you come up with your Blog name?

Funny story really, Jayne and I had been discussing a dressing table in the bedroom and she was like is that not called a vanity, and that's how the name Sophie's vanity came about.

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?

My iPhone 4S.

28. How often do you clean your house?

I do a big clean once a week and try to tidy up after myself as much as I can.

29. What’s your favorite color?

I don’t have one! Honest to God, I really don’t. Would have to be between sea green, red and well black of course.

30. Do you swear?

Okay I’m not going to lie. I do sometimes. But I’m really trying hard not to. It’s not very lady like. Just one of those things that you can't help.

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

I am, going to continue to look after Jayne since she's sick, have dinner and watch hollyoaks and probably have a bath!

Would you rather - Beauty

I have seen this tag going about for a while now, on YouTube and blogs everywhere, I liked the questions too and it's something different! 

So here is my would you rather post!


Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

Would definitely be my palettes and eyeshadows! I NEVER leave the house without lipstick on. 

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

This ones easy, never be able to cut it again. I've been growing it for the last year and I've only cut my fringe once in that whole time. #hairdresserproblems

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Coral cheeks! Pink makes me look washed out because I'm so pale. 

If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

I want to say both but I would have to choose clothes. I have enough make up to last me a lifetime, and some lasts for ages whereas clothes wash out, loose there shape and colour and new styles are always in fashion.

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Eyeliner as lipstick. I can't even not have some sort of lip liner on, my lips are non existent without it.

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

If we had a sephora in the uk I would spend half my life in there. I always like to try new things and different brands to see what's good and what works for me. I don't like to stick to the same brand or product for too long. I experiment with make up just as much as I do my hair and clothes. 

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

Eyeshadow. I always colour co-ordinate my lipstick with my outfits, and I always have a pop of colour. One lipstick for the rest of my life just wouldn't work with my outrageous outfit choices/colours.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Summer clothes in winter. I could always layer more summer clothes to keep warm, but I can't take keep cool wearing a wooly jumper/jacket. 

Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Bright nails. I am a nail polish junkie. I change my nails at least twice a week. 

Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Eye product. If you constantly wore bright lipstick and nothing else, people would look at your lips, and wouldn't notice you didn't have anything else on your eyes.

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

Messy bun. I look 12 with this fringe and a pony tail in.  

Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

Never use lipgloss. I've never been able to get into it. Too sticky and messy for me, matte lips all the way. 

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

Sharpie them in everyday. Once my eyebrows fell out, and I only had half a brow on one side, it was horrible so I shaved them all off and started again, you don't realise how different you look with no real eyebrows. I couldn't be without them.

Would you rather live without makeup or nail varnish? 

This is easy, nail varnish. I think short well kept nails are pretty with no polish. But me without make up, would be like someone going out the house with no trousers on, I just couldn't do it.

1) Favorite fall lip color?
Far to many to choose from but it would have to be Sleek's matte lipstick in vamp or my Rimmel Kate moss in 004!

2) Favorite fall nail color?

I'm loving the Barry m jelly polish in watermelon it's a lovely forest green colour. 

3) Favorite starbucks fall drink?
Toffee nut latte or a Gingerbread latte from Starbucks! 

4) Favorite fall candle?
This is so hard for me I am a candle hoarder but I'm loving the Cherry vanilla wax tart and spiced cupcake wax tart from Yankee candle. 

5) Favorite fall sweater/accessory?
Chunky gold chains and oversized knitted cardigans! 

6) Haunted house, hay ride, or corn maze?
Haunted House even though I would be terrified.

7) Favorite Halloween movie?
I hate scary films with a passion. Does Edward scissor hands count hahaha. 

8) Favorite candy to eat on Halloween?
Monkey nuts. Could live on them, this is my favouraite thing I look forward too.

9) What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
Okay so when it comes to Halloween I ALWAYS change my mind when it comes to outfits. But I'm dead set on the one I've chosen I'm not gonna tell you exactly what it is cause I have a fabulous blog post to do on it of my make up and hair. I'm saying it's something 1950s. ;)

10) What is your favourite thing about fall?

Cosy nights in, watching Saturday night tv with my wifey, and cute walks to the castle.

REVIEW lush products

Today I will be reviewing some products I bought today while at lush. 

I purchased dark angels cleanser (£6.35 for 100g) and cupcake face mask (£5.95 for 100g)

Firstly I've only used these both once and I love them already. They are made especially for combo/oily skin which is perfect for me. They claim to both absorbe the excess oils and dirt left over from make up. The dark angels did an amazing job of taking off every single trace of make up! The cupcake facemask has to be kept in the fridge which is amazing for putting on your skin after cleansing, so cooling. 

So far so good. I am definitely going to be making these part of my skin care routine! 

Will keep everyone posted on how they are holding up with my problem skin!
